Chapter One: The Birth of Okiee Dokiee

Okiee Dokiee, Where Every pet is a Star🐾

From 2020 to 2025, I was running my own ornamental fish business. It was profitable, but more importantly, it was something I genuinely loved.

Then came graduation.

Family pressure, the struggle to find a job, and even bullying became part of my journey. Some people called me ā€œJaillaā€ because of my work.

Eventually, I was forced to shut down the business I loved.

But that moment made me take a decision:

If I ever earn a single penny again, I’ll earn it from the pet industry.

So I started looking at the bigger picture.

I studied the market and realized that Bangladesh still lacked a reliable pet e-commerce platform where pet parents could access products and different pet-related services from a single place.

And that’s where the idea of Okiee Dokiee started taking shape.

But an idea is easy to have. Building a real business is different.

To polish my vision, I joined a startup competition where mentors helped founders challenge and develop their ideas.

I came in with a very scattered plan.

During the first few weeks, I felt like everyone was moving ahead while I was still struggling to properly explain my own startup idea—even during my 1-to-1 sessions.

Then my mentors did something I’ll always be grateful for.

Instead of simply giving me answers, they sat with me and asked the right questions—until I discovered the answers myself.

They helped me turn a scattered thought into a structured and realistic plan.

I’m truly grateful to my mentors:

MD Asaduzzaman CEO, Xcode Corp

Mohammad Tariqul Islam Senior Manager, BRAC-Aarong

Their guidance became an important turning point in my journey.

Then came the next chapter:

I had to build it myself.

I started working on the UI/UX of Okiee Dokiee myself, and with the help of a developer, I began turning those designs into a real website and app.

Today, the journey is still ongoing.

From an ornamental fish business… to losing everything I had built… to finding a new purpose in the pet industry…

This isn’t just a startup for me. It’s a comeback story.

And this is only Chapter One. Stay tuned with STS to know upcoming Okiee Dokiee's Chapters.
