Problem / pain point
Many students, travelers, and other internet users depend on expensive mobile data or struggle to find affordable, reliable connectivity outside their homes. Meanwhile, cafés, shops, offices, and households may have unused Wi-Fi capacity but lack a secure, convenient way to share it with paying users. Existing Wi-Fi sharing often requires revealing passwords or provides limited control over access and usage.
Solution
ShareLynk is developing a Wi-Fi access marketplace that connects internet users with verified Wi-Fi providers. It enables controlled access without publicly revealing network passwords, helping providers monetize spare bandwidth while giving users a more affordable connectivity option. The platform aims to provide access management, usage information, and support through a digital interface.
What happens if the problem isn't solved?
Users will continue relying on potentially expensive mobile data, while businesses and households miss opportunities to earn from unused internet capacity. Uncontrolled password sharing may also create security and access-management risks.

Why us / what is different
ShareLynk focuses on making existing Wi-Fi infrastructure more accessible rather than building a new internet network. Its approach combines a two-sided marketplace with controlled access, password privacy, provider verification, and usage management. The founding team is developing the platform with a focus on university communities in Bangladesh, where affordability and convenient connectivity are important. Our goal is to create an accessible way for users to connect and for Wi-Fi owners to earn from spare capacity.

Startup story / journey
Our journey began with PentaRideX, a bike-sharing startup where we achieved profitability but learned the challenge of high customer acquisition costs (CAC). This experience pushed us to explore a bigger, more universal need: internet connectivity. I’m Rahat Hasan, an EEE student at the University of Dhaka, and together with my friend Fahmid Tauseef from the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering, we started ShareLynk to make internet access more affordable and reliable. By connecting people who need Wi-Fi with owners who have unused capacity, our vision is to make connectivity accessible to everyone while creating value for both users and providers.
